Herbie Mann, credited as being one of the seminal jazz flautists, is probably best known for the musical odyssey that has taken him around the world.

Long before the concept of 'World Music' was coined, Mann was exploring the rhythms and harmonies of Africa, India, Cuba, the Middle East and Japan looking to develop his music and sound. However, the country whose music has most influenced his playing style and most touched his heart is Brazil, and the concert on this DVD reflects this perfectly:

"Jasil Brazz" is a filmed performance of Herbie Mann and his jazz ensemble - band members include Marc Cohen on keyboards, Paul Socolow on bass, Romero Lubambo on guitar, Ricky Sebastian on drums and Cyro Baptista on percussion. Programme extras include a biography of Herbie Mann and solo excerpts of each performer.
