This fascinating and haunting wildlife programme is narrated by Virginia McKenna and centres on the West of Scotland not far from the Isle of Mull, the last stronghold of the wild sea otter in Britain, made famous by Gavin Maxwell and his highly acclaimed book 'Ring of Bright Water'.

The programme features unique archive footage which shows Gavin Maxwell playing with the otters in the streams that run close by Camusfearna as well as the work being done today by Paul and Grace Yoxon who care for injured and sick otters at a facility not far from Camusfearna which is funded through the International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF) which they set up in 1993.

The magic of Maxwell and Camusfearna is being kept alive for the future.

The film is introduced by Virginia Mckenna star of RING OF BRIGHT WATER, and founder of the BORN FREE FOUNDATION with Bill Travers.

The International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF) was inspired by observing otters in their true natural habitat. Because the otter lives on land and in the water and is at the peak of the food chain it is an ambassador species to a first class environment. IOSF was set up to protect and help the 13 species of otter worldwide through a combination of compassion and science.
