For 25 years IAT has played host to aircraft and their crews involved in almost every aspect of aviation. Undoubtedly, admiration for the achievements of aircraft engineering and aircrew training will be honoured as the last two and a half decades have seen dramatic changes in the role and development of aviation.
This programme traces the history of IAT which began as a small airshow at North Weald airfield in 1971 in aid of Royal Air Force charities.Today, IAT is the biggest multinational gathering of military aircraft in the world.
With recent and archive footage of IAT over twenty five years, re-live the achievements shaping our aviation history and giving due recognition and gratitude to the many thousands of volunteers who annually undertake the organisation of the International Air Tattoo and the vigorous efforts of the RAF Benevolent Fund whose determination assists and has assisted countless RAF men, women and their families.
