For fifty years the name Massey Ferguson has graced the bonnets of tractors all over the world. First used in 1958 to replace the separate Ferguson and Massey Harris brand names, Massey Ferguson and the famous red and grey paintwork have become synonymous with high quality, long lasting farm machinery.
This programme is a celebration of those fifty years of manufacture from 1958 to the present day, focusing on the many world leading tractor models produced by the company, as well as the famous red combines and countless other implements that have borne the name ‘Massey Ferguson’.
Using archive footage, much of which has not seen the light of day for many years, we see how the MF tractor evolved from the little 35 through to the mighty 8690 model and how combine harvesters progressed from the very popular 400 and 500 Series up to the giant rotary monsters of the 21st Century.
Today, producing modern high output machines, Massey Ferguson prospers under the ownership of the American AGCO organisation. So join us as we chart fifty years of one of the most famous names in world agriculture – Massey Ferguson!
